Low Profile Mounts (Plate Mounts)

Our range of low profile mounts is available in 5 basic configurations to suit a wide range of loadings.  This style provides a low profile installation and, with the addition of a simple rebound washer, a fail-safe solution essential for many mobile and marine applications.

The basic construction is a square mounting plate and an inner steel tube separated by bonded rubber material.

This allows for multi axis and conical movement.

The FRS and FRS/MV versions are also available in 316 Stainless Steel for marine use.

Standard products are available to cater for axial static loads from 1 to 200Kg. The installation can be arranged for conventional or suspended loads as illustrated here:

Suspended loads can be supported via standard studding material to suit the bore size of the mount.  In these instances a large rebound washer is essential to provide for fail-safe operation.

For conventional installation, the rebound washer can also be used and is always advisable in mobile applications.

For some applications the mounts can be rivetted to a mounting plate rather than being fixed with screws/nuts.

Materials

Rubber:          Natural rubber (polyisoprene) of different grades and hardnesses as shown in the table below. Alternative elastomers such as Nitriles, Neoprenes and EPDM rubbers are available on request for FRS and SFM models.

* Alternative materials for FRS/HD subject to minimum quantity

Metals:            Mild steel with options for the FRS and FRS/MV models of 316 Stainless Steel.  The standard zinc plated and Sherardized parts are  RoHS compliant

For special applications we can provide installation brackets such as those illustrated right.  These are typically made to order on a project basis to conform exactly to customer installation requirements

Typically the parts are laser cut steel but could optionally be in any suitable material..  For such projects, the mounts would normally be riveted to the brackets.
