MOPLA 1

The Mopla 1 range is based on a single spring element with alternative mounting methods as shown in the pictures below.

Installation

Except for the type Mopla GH, these mounts are secured to both the isolated equipment and the floor or a sub-base.  Because of the relatively high deflection compared to rubber based mounts, it is necessary to balance deflection where loading is different at each mounting point to ensure that the isolated equipment remains level.  This is provided for within the range where different spring rates are provided within the same overall height. For small differences in deflection, this can be easily accommodated using spacers or washers

Typical Applications

Air conditioning units, compressors, refrigeration units, transformers, generators.

Materials

Rubber:          Vibrostop Elastomer with metal insert.

Spring:            C72 spring steel with powder coated epoxy coating.

Note: When selecting mounts, firstly identify the loading at each mounting point.  If different, and the loading cannot be equalised by moving mounting points, then select mounts which start at the same overall height ‘H’ and will result in similar deflection under the loading at each point.  If in doubt, calculate the deflection at each point to see the difference in the static deflection.

Example.  A 4 point mounting where 2 mounts experience a static load of 25Kg and the other 2 experience 35Kg.

If we choose GG/A 25 and GG/A 45 mounts the relative deflections would be as follows:

25Kg/4.5Kg/mm = 5.6 deflection and 35Kg/7Kg/mm = 5mm deflection.   The small difference would be acceptable in this case.   With springs with lower rates (i.e. with larger deflection under design load) it is more important to ensure that the mounts are suitably positioned to achieve a common deflection or different model types are selected for each point load.
