Spring mounts, when used in vibration isolation applications typically provide the very highest levels of isolation due to the high deflection capacity provided by springs.  As a general rule, the higher the static deflection in a mounting system, the lower the transmissibility (and the higher the isolation efficiency).  In many vibration isolation scenarios, where high frequencies are involved this may not be significant but where the forcing frequency is low such as in a typical air conditioning air handling system, fan speeds can be as low as 500rpm.  In such cases, the natural frequency of other mounting systems may be too low and could amplfy vibration.  A typical rubber based system would have a natural frequency in the order of 5 to 12Hz (according to loading) whilst with spring based systems it is relatively easy to achieve  a 2Hz natural frequency.
