Laminated Rubber Spring

The RIW-5 multiple-interleaf-plate rubber spring has been introduced to suit specific high load and high shock applications.

The compact design (150mm dia x 180mm high) incorporates Sherardized steel interleaf plates and a special internal/external rubber profile providing high load and deflection capacity.

These mounts may be used as conventional compression anti-vibration mounts or, by utilising the through bore, can be used as fail-safe suspension mounts.

Normal load capacity is 30KN (~ 3 tons) giving 16mm of deflection.  However under shock conditions, deflections up to 40mm can be accommodated (200KN).

Weighing just over 8Kg, these mounts provide a compact high performance solution in appropriate applications.  The design also provides options for some conventional AV applications particularly where fail-safety is essential.

We are able to design and manufacture smaller and larger variants of this style.

Installation

Normal installation would be a spigot location into the central bore although these mounts can also be located on the outside diameter of the top and bottom plates.

Typical Applications

Applications include rolling mills, heavy industry handling, mining.  Due to the through hole, it is also possible to use these as fail-safe suspension mountings (see application picture.

Materials.

The standard materials used are S275JR steel and our special natural rubber in 60ShA.  However, alternative natural and synthetic materials are also available.
